With the influx of digital technology, Porter feels that the subject of the portrait is too oftentimes lost. “Portrait photography should focus on the people, not on the backgrounds. Nice backgrounds are important, but their purpose is to serve as a setting for the subject to help define the character and the nature of the subject. Truly good portrait photography should idealize the character and personality of the subject.” You will see his philosophy reflected in his work throughout the many portrait galleries available online as well as in our studio.
